Daley questions role in Blagojevich, Madigan feud

CHICAGO While Daley was out of town last week, Blagojevich said the mayor should come off the sidelines in a feud over the governor's stalled capital construction program.

At a news conference Thursday, Daley said it's hard when a feud gets personal and people in politics "break trust." And the mayor asked what there was for him to patch up since the feud has been dragging on.

Blagojevich has accused Madigan of being the road block to a deal for a statewide construction program. And Madigan sends surrogates to meetings with the governor because he says meeting with Blagojevich is unproductive.
