Men's clothing, accessory sales up

In the first nine months this year, sales of men's apparel rose one percent. Over the same period, sales of women's apparel fell 6 percent.

Business suits have been selling well. Stores like Bloomingdale's are making more room for menswear. J Crew recently opened two men's only stores. And Louis Vuitton added a new line of men's luggage and accessories.

Versace has also unveiled suit carriers and briefcases.
