Lockport soldier to be court martialed

A U.S. soldier from Illinois is set to be court martialed in Germany for his alleged involvement in killing four Iraqi prisoners.The prisoners were bound, blindfolded, shot in the head and dumped in a Baghdad canal.

Sgt. Michael Leahy Jr. of Lockport, Illinois faces life in prison and a dishonorable discharge. He is charged with premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit premeditated murder and obstruction of justice.

The charges are linked to the killings that happened nearly two years ago.
