Fast food restaurants have calorie and nutrition information for their customers, but do people actually read what's posted? Apparently not, according to a new study in the American Journal of Public Health.

Yale researchers observed more than 4,000 customers in McDonalds , Burger king, Au Bon Pain and Starbucks. The results? Hardly anyone. Just six people consulted the guidelines before placing an order.

Experts say the only way to educate consumers is to post calories and nutritional information right on the menus where customers can't help but notice.
