Wristband could cut nausea symptoms post-radiation

April 13, 2009 A new study finds acupressure wristbands could help cancer patients experience almost 25 percent less nausea during radiation treatments.

This study in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management also discounted the common belief that such non-Western medical treatments act more as a placebo than an actual pain reliever.

Scientists say the wristbands put pressure on a nausea point identified by traditional Chinese acupuncture.
