A new British study reinforces how important it is for patients to control their diabetes. The study finds severe hypoglycemia occurs when blood-sugar levels drop dangerously low. Scientists found that could lead to poorer memory and diminished brain power.
Researchers say it's already known that type-2 diabetes increases the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease and this research adds another piece to a very complex jigsaw puzzle.
The research was presented at a conference of the charity Diabetes UK.
