Police investigate carjackings

Chicago police believe two carjackings that occurred less than 13 hours apart in the same neighborhood are not connected.Two people have been critically injured in the separate incidents.

The first carjacking happened Monday night in the 6600- block of Stony Island Avenue. The victim had stopped at a gas station when a gunman approached him and shot him in the shoulder and chest.

Around 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, a man drove his car to a gas station in the 7600-block of South Chicago Avenue. A man shot that victim once before driving off in the victim's car.

Both victims are in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

Police have made no arrests in either case.
