August 25, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
Vigils were held Tuesday morning to call attention to the disappearance of a suburban man missing in Costa Rica. David Gimelfarb went missing in a remote area of Costa Rica two weeks ago. His family and friends gathered near ABC 7's State Street studios in the Loop Tuesday morning before walking over to the Daley Plaza for a rally. They hope to rally for more support in the search for the missing 28-year-old.
"Every day that goes on, it's torturous. It just keeps going, it's not like one day any more, especially for the searchers. Every day feels like three, and I'm sure his parents feel the same way. I'm very concerned. I mean, this is my best friend," said Christine Shaw, Gimelfarb's best friend.
Gimelfarb was enrolled as doctoral student at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. He was originally from Highland Park.
