December 11, 2009 (CHICAGO) --A window washer was rescued by his partner after an equipment problem in the Gold Coast. The man was getting into his safety harness on the roof of the building at 50 East Chestnut when he slipped on ice. He fell about 10-20 feet before his safety harness stopped his fall. His partner had to secure the rope and the two climbed back up to the roof.
The two arrived on the roof just as firefighters from the Chicago Fire Department got to the scene.
The window washer who fell was not seriously injured and refused to be transported to a hospital.
