Historic Lake Forest home damaged in fire

December 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) Fire crews were called to the scene around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials say a fire on the first floor got out of control, spread throughout the two-story home and up into the attic.

Everyone got out safely.

It took about 60 firefighters to battle the blaze.

The homeowner is former mayor of Lake Forest, Frank Farwell.

Neighbors say the house is about 100 years old.
