Jackson to rally with Louisiana workers

The Reverend Jesse Jackson will go to Louisiana on Thursday to fight for workers devastated by the oil spill.

Jackson made the announcement at a news conference during the 39th Annual Rainbow PUSH Coalition Conference. He joined the president of the Louisiana Oystermen Association in criticizing BP Oil's current claims process.

"BP is setting up a claims program, of course, that they control. And they will tell you whether you qualify and how much you qualify for," said Byron Encalade, pres., Louisiana Oystermen Association.

"These workers, these fisherman, these oyster shuckers, these truck drivers, they need right now their claims. They can't make it any further," said Rev. Jackson.

Jackson says he will have a rally with workers to fight for claims and will meet with leaders in the region.
