More than 90 World War II veterans are flying to Washington, D.C., to celebrate their history.

The Legacy Girls gave the veterans a musical send-off at Midway Airport Wednesday morning. They were traveling to D.C. to visit the National World War II Museum.

Another group was set to return Wednesday night.

The trips are made possible by Honor Flight Chicago. The group raises money to send World War II veterans to Washington for a day of honor.
