Jake Smith, 41, of Chicago is charged with felony home invasion in connection with a break-in and burglary in Skokie that happened two weeks ago.
Police say the homeowner had just gotten out of the shower when she was confronted by man. He reportedly promised not to hurt her and to call her later to tell her where he was pawning her jewelry so she could get it back.
Police have also charged smith with two other burglaries in Skokie.
