Authenticity of signatures on petitions questioned

There are questions about the authenticity of some signatures gathered on petitions for Chicago's mayoral candidates.

Notary public Maricela Rodriguez's signature and seal appear on a quarter of the petitions turned in by mayoral hopeful Rob Halpin. She also appears as the notary for nearly 100 of the 4,600 petitions turned in by the Reverend James Meeks.

The problem? Rodriguez says she never notarized any petitions for either of those candidates. She provided ABC 7 with a copy of her signature so it could be compared to the signature that appears on the petitions.
