Permits may be purchased online at www.fpdcc.com or at the District's General Headquarters, located at 536 North Harlem Avenue in west suburban River Forest, Illinois.
The District's General Headquarters is the only location to shop for permits in person and will be open an hour earlier, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, January 3. On Tuesday, January 4, 2011, the normal permitting hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m. will resume.
Since 2005, the district has offered picnic permits online. Typically, nearly 10 percent of the total permits sold for the year are sold on the first day. Approximately 60 percent of the permits sold annually are purchased online.
