Nearly 200 police officers honored at ceremony

January 12, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Many officers were joined by loved ones as they walked across the stage.

The ceremony recognizes officers who have distinguished themselves and the department.

Among those honored were three officers who tracked down a man who suffered a diabetic seizure and was found out in the cold.

Wednesday's ceremony began with a moment of silence for former Chicago Police Superintendent Fred Rice who died on Monday and the Arizona shooting victims.
