Plans called for building the mosque near 91st Street and Route 83.
One board member says while nearby houses of worship cover 35-40 percent of their land with buildings and pavement, the proposed mosque would cover 60-65 percent of the land it wants to build on.
An attorney representing the mosque says that issue will be addressed before February 1 when the DuPage County Development Committee is expected to consider the zoning board of appeals' recommendation.
