Demolition should begin in a couple of weeks on a bridge in northwest Indiana that was closed because of safety concerns.

The Martin Luther King Bridge travels over Interstate 80-94 in Gary. It was closed in many of last year after inspectors found cracks in its support beams and concrete deck.

The state is suing the company that built the bridge. Construction on a new bridge is scheduled to begin in March.
