November 15, 2011 (CHICAGO) --Toys R Us plans to get a jump start on the competition, including Wal-Mart, for attracting day after-Thanksgiving shoppers. It will open its doors at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. That's one hour before Wal-Marts open and offer big holiday sales.
Toys R Us plans to stay open through 11 o'clock Friday night. It's also extending its layaway program to include most toys instead of just big ticket items.
