The Chicago Sport and Social Club presented an $8,000 check to the Chargers Youth Football Team. As ABC7 reported this week, the team has an opportunity to play in a tournament.
Team members have been practicing hard all week while trying to figure out how to pay for the trip.
After hearing the team's story, the Chicago Sport and Social Club and others donated the money. Thursday's check gave them more than enough to make the trip.
