Ex-Bears WR David Terrell facing battery charge

April 15, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Terrell was ordered held on a $10,000 bond Saturday after he allegedly grabbed his ex-girlfriend during an argument in his high-rise apartment in the city's South Loop neighborhood.

Court documents also allege Terrell threatened to throw the woman off a balcony.

The 33-year-old appeared in court Saturday and is charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

Terrell's attorney declined to comment, saying his client is innocent. Terrell was arrested Friday.

Chicago police say the woman checked into a Chicago hospital after leaving Terrell's apartment and contacted police.

Terrell, who played for the University of Michigan, was drafted by the Bears in 2001. The wide receiver played four seasons with the Bears and one with the Denver Broncos. He finished his career with 128 receptions and 9 touchdowns.

He is due in court April 30.
