Gov. Walker met by protesters in Chicago

An appearance in Chicago by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker sparked a protest Friday.

Walker faces a June recall election prompted by anger over a law that he pushed through the Wisconsin legislature. It cuts the pay of most public workers and eliminated union rights.

The protest happened outside the building where Walker spoke to the Illinois Policy Institute about the impact of changes he made to cut spending and taxes.

"We avoided massive layoffs, you won't know that from some of the guys out in front, but the irony is what we did allowed us to avoid massive layoffs of public employees in our state and local government," Walker said.

Walker says he expects a nasty campaign
