Comcast teams up with Verizon

Comcast said Thursday Dec. 3, 2009 it will put up $6.5 billion in cash and $7.25 billion in assets to buy 51 percent of NBC Universal from General Electric Co.

Comcast is teaming up with Verizon Wireless in the Chicago market.

The cable giant and the cell phone provider will now offer each other's services. Depending on the bundle package chosen, new and existing customers of both companies could qualify for a variety of offers and incentives, including prepaid visa cards worth up to $300.
