2 charged in Forest Park shooting over phone

May 2, 2012 (FOREST PARK, Ill.)

Gregory Hych, 30, of Forest Park, and Kenesha Sheridan, 21, of Chicago, are both charged with attempted murder.

The shooting took place at a 7-Eleven in Forest Park Saturday at 2:55 p.m. at Desplaines and Roosevelt Road. The victim had gone there to recover his cell phone, which he had lost earlier in the day.

When the victim called his phone, a person who claimed he had found it told the victim to meet him at the store. An argument ensued over the cell phone, police say.

Police say when he met with Hych and Sheridan they got into an argument, which led to the shooting. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his neck.

Police say the victim's girlfriend, who was present at the time of the shooting, identified a suspect in a photo lineup.
