November 19, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The guns were returned at police departments in Calumet City, Midlothian and Chicago Heights.

The weapons will be sent to the state crime lab for testing to determine if any of them have been used in an unsolved crime. If not, the weapons will be destroyed by state police.

People could return unused medication as part of a narcotics buyback as well. Police say 51 pounds of expired medication was brought in.
