Drop off your Christmas trees at city parks

January 5, 2013 1:34:56 PM PST
Christmas is over, which means it's time to recycle the tree.

The Chicago Park District will accept trees starting Saturday, January 5, 2013.

There are 23 recycling sites in city parks.

Mulch from the trees will be available for free starting January 11.

Before dropping off your tree, remove all ornaments, lights and stands first as sites are not able to accept other materials, such as decorations, wreaths, garland or household recyclables.
