Merit School of Music: Suzuki-Alegre Strings Ensemble

May 19, 2013 (CHICAGO)

But talented young musicians from Merit School of Music in suburban Pilsen recently took their string music all the way to Japan for the 16th Suzuki Method World Convention.

Now that they're back, the students will perform in the Chicago area. They came into our ABC 7 studio to give us a live preview. Herine Coetzee Koschak, Co-Director, Merit Suzuki Alegre Strings, and Karina Fabian, student spokesperson, Suzuki Alegre String Ensemble, told us about the upcoming concerts and the trip to Japan. Then several students performed: Grace Garriga, Mike Kijowski, Michelle Lechuga, Karina Fabian, Andrea Aguilera, Mercy Garriga, and Mike O'Mara.
