With school back in session, schools have ramped up efforts to make lunchtime a lot healthier.

Recent studies are backing what most parents already assume, that healthy eating paired with good sleep will help children perform better at school. If parents like to have more control on what their child eats, registered dietician Vicki Shanta Retelny, came up with some creative lunchbox ideas that parents can easily put together in order to encourage healthy eating for their kids day in and day out.

  • First Box: Pizza whole wheat wrap, baby carrots, snap peas and KIND Bar These pizza whole wheat wraps are tasty, healthy and easy to make! All you do is cover the whole wheat wrap in sauce, cover in low fat cheese, roll up and cut into small bite-size pieces.
  • Second Box: Tuna salad triangle sandwiches, grapes, and string cheese
  • Third Box: Hummus and whole grain pita, cherry tomatoes, apple sauce, and KIND Bar
