CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people were killed and one was injured in a shooting blocks away from a Chicago Public School in West Garfield Park, police say.
Police say a 43-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were taken to hospitals in critical condition where they died of their wounds. The third victim, a 16-year-old boy, is expected to recover.
The shooting, in the 4400-block of West Wilcox, took place not long after school let out.
This month, there have been 47 homicides - including shootings and stabbings - in Chicago. There have been 154 homicides so far this year.
