A piece of European history has found a new home in Chicago.

CTA officials and 47th Ward Alderman Eugene Schulter officially opened a permanent exhibit featuring a section of the Berlin Wall Saturday morning. The display at the Western Avenue Brown Line station is the only one of its kind in the Midwest.

The exhibit also features historical information surrounding the erection of the wall during the Cold War and the symbolic reunification of Germany in the late 1980s.
