Businesses in the Waukegan strip-mall damaged by a natural gas explosion last month have now reopened. The late February blast injured eight people at 1926 Grand Ave.

Demolition crews had torn down the most heavily damaged portions of that structure in early March. Two stores were in the section that had to be demolished.

The businesses in the rest of the structure were left standing and are open for business.
