IRS offers stimulus package help

The Internal Revenue Service is offering free help this weekend to make sure as many people as possible receive their checks from the economic stimulus package.Six Chicago area IRS offices will be open extra hours Saturday to help low income people-- including some retirees and veterans-- get the checks.

Under the stimulus act, some single people are eligible to receive at least $300 and married couples are eligible to receive at least $600.

Many households can also get an additional $300 for each qualifying child under the age of 17.
