The popular Swallow Cliff Toboggan Slides in the south suburbs are set to be razed. But Palos Park's mayor is planning on one final plea to save them.

Mayor John Mahoney is planning on leading a group of residents to voice their concerns before the Cook County Board Tuesday.

The six toboggan slides were shut down by the county in 2004 after a report suggested it would cost $1.3 million to repair them.

Despite the history and memories for many in the area, Mahoney acknowledges it's going to be a tough sell.
