Sex hormones may affect stock market

Researchers say the male hormone testosterone may actually boost the success of financial traders, but only in the short run.

A new study shows testosterone, which drives male aggression and sexual interest, can also prove helpful in finance because traders with high levels were more willing to take a risk. But researchers also say that elevated levels over several days could possibly lead to irrational risk taking.

Researchers based their findings on a study of male financial traders in London.
