Firefighters battle house fire for hours

An extra-alarm fire tore through a northwest suburban home early Wednesday morning. Firefighters and police were called to the home at 99 Forestview in Bartlett. Massive flames were shooting out of the house when firefighters arrived.

The fire reportedly started late Tuesday and took hours to control. The fire was finally contained about 2:30 a.m.

The family inside the home was able to get out safely.

Damage is now estimated at $600,000.
