Organic food prices rising
Rising fuel costs and higher prices for grains needed for animal feed are now beginning to impact the organic industry.
The company Organic Valley says rising costs have forced it to raise its dairy prices more than eight percent this year.
Prices are now expected to exceed $4 for a half-gallon of organic milk and $7 for a gallon.
Organic egg prices are as high as 4.99 per dozen in some areas. That's more than a dollar increase over this time last year.
