Photo may help fight Peterson gun charge
His public relations firm released the picture Wednesday night.
They say it shows the former Bolingbrook police sergeant carrying a weapon on duty that prosecutors now say violates state law.
The AR-15 was confiscated several months ago. And he was charged last week.
The photo was apparently taken a few years ago when Travolta was in the Chicago area promoting a movie, and Peterson was assigned to protect him.
