No mention of Obamas in Trinity services

Saturday night, the church's new pastor, Otis Moss, said he was 'saddened' by the news of the decision, but he did not bring it up to the congregation. The only mention was in a brochure distributed after the service.

One church member said Sunday that it was unfortunate the Obamas had to leave because of remarks others had made.

"He's running for president of the United States, and there are things that are happening that are causing him issues. He has to make the decision to extricate himself from the situation that's been causing those problems," said Ken Daniels.

"I would be disappointed if he stopped serving God. That's the bottom line. Makes no difference where he goes, as long as he continues to serve God," said Fred Pope, also a Trinity member.

Oama said Saturday night that he will not condemn Trinity United Church of Christ, saying, "It's not a church worthy of denouncing."
