CTA test driving new hybrid buses

CHICAGO The goal is to reduce fuel costs and pollution.

The bus is called the Design Line Ecosaver 4. It's an upgrade from the current hybrid bus used by the CTA.

Transit officials say a new electric motor run by a battery helps the bus nearly double the gas mileage over the previous hybrid models.

The CTA will use the next three weeks to decide whether to invest in the green bus.
