More than a dozen crews with Commonwealth Edison are on their way to Iowa tonight to help restore power to thousands of people impacted by the Midwest flooding. Most of the work will be done in Cedar Rapids.

Fourteen loaded up their trucks this morning for the trip.

Massive flooding knocked out power equipment.. leaving 18-thousand people without electricity for ten days now.

The ComEd workers volunteered to install new equipment...

They say the project should take five to seven days to complete.

It's is the first time ComEd crews have left the state to help another utility company.
