Heightened security planned for Taste

New high tech security measures will be deployed at the 27th annual Taste of Chicago, which begins Friday.In addition to mounted police who will be patrolling the area, new technology will be used for the first time.

There will be a high-tech communications vehicle giving all security agencies access to the same information. And for the first time, the 911 center will get aerial pictures of the fest.

Six million people are expected at the Taste this year. It runs through July 6.
