The emerald ash borer has found its way to west suburban St. Charles. Officials say the tree destroying beetle was discovered during an inspection on June 20 when public works staffers noticed holes in a storm-damaged tree they were trimming.

Public works employees have also found the bug in all areas of St. Charles. By law infested trees must be destroyed.

There is no word on how many are involved.
