Airlines ask customers to write Congress

Airline companies blame speculators for the dramatic increase in the price of oil.

Now the airlines are sending letters and emails to customers, Asking them to contact Congress about better controlling oil speculation. United, American and Delta have already sent out messages to consumers.

The airlines have raised fares, added fees, cut services and laid off employees to offset higher fuel costs and say more still needs to be done.
