Last Saturday, someone spotted the gator sitting on a log in Lake Renwick near southwest suburban Plainfield.
On Thursday after days of waiting and baiting, officials finally caught the four-foot gator.
It's believed the alligator was once someone's pet and it just got too big to handle.
Back in June, a gator was pulled from the Chicago River on the South Side.
