Flooding leaves motorists stranded on Dan Ryan

CHICAGO The flood waters rose so high in some places that drivers had to climb on top of their vehicles to wait for help.

Some area residents joined stranded motorists to push their cars out of the streets.

The water eventually receded on its own.

At first, a water main break was suspected but a clogged sewer actually triggered the problem.
