There is such a thing as "good" fat in our body, known as "brown fat cells."Now there's a new understanding of the origins of brown fat cells that could help fight obesity down the road.

A Boston research team has found that a protein that induces bone growth also helps promote the development of good brown fat in mice.

Brown fat cells help the body burn calories and help keep us warm.

Experts hope findings may help lead to new ways to prevent and treat obesity.
