Reverend James Meeks met with police in Winnetka Thursday to discuss what will happen when he buses Chicago public school students to New Trier High School.Meeks wants Chicago students to boycott the first day of classes September 2 to protest the inequities in school funding between rich and poor communities. As part of that protest, he plans to take Chicago students to New Trier High School and try and enroll them.

Thursday's meeting with police concerned logistics of the protest.

The New Trier school district sent an e-mail to parents saying it is doing all it can to make sure the school day is not disrupted for its students.
