A handyman at a South Side apartment building is being held without bail on attempted murder and home invasion charges. At approximately 6 a.m. Saturday, police say 36-year-old Thaddeus Gunnell forced his way into an apartment in the building where he works at 50th Street and South Cornell Avenue.

Police say Gunnell stabbed the two people who live there when he tried to rob them. The victims, a 48-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, are in fair and guarded condition.
