The American Lung Association says teenagers often purchase single cigarettes due to the high cost of a pack.
The new law also prohibits tobacco vending machines in factories, businesses and other places not open to the general public. It also makes it illegal for those under 18 to use a fake I.D. to purchase tobacco products.
