Chicago Jazz Fest in full swing

The Labor Day tradition- and Chicago's longest running music festival- includes headliners Sonny Rollins and Ornette Coleman.

The festival kicked off with an evening concert by Rollins- one of the last jazz originals, who helped event Bebop and ran with Miles Davis, Clifford Jordan and Max Roach- on Thursday, August 28, at Millennium Park's Jay Pritzker Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. After the performance, the fest moved into Grant Park for the three-day event.

Admission is free.
